WESTMINSTER, Colo. — [April 14, 2020] — A new chapter encompassing Colorado, Wyoming and New Mexico was recently added by the National Ornamental & Miscellaneous Metals Association (NOMMA) at its METALfab expo in Salt Lake City. According to NOMMA, the newly formed Rocky Mountain Chapter was created as a direct result of the association’s growing membership and need for stronger presence with more regional opportunities for members.
NOMMA was formed in 1958 to serve the ornamental and miscellaneous metals industry and has always remained focused on improving the industry through education and advocacy work. With members from across the nation, including technical schools and students, NOMMA encourages the formation of regional chapters which can add local programming activities that educate and promote the advancement of the industry.
Uriah Bueller, founder of Parasoleil, a Colorado-based creator of architectural panels that filter light and frame space, was appointed to serve as president of the Rocky Mountain Chapter. Bueller has been actively involved in NOMMA since 2019 and has dedicated his professional career to advance the industry.
“Part of our mission at the Rocky Mountain Chapter is to facilitate meaningful conversations and share resources that will fuel the regional growth of our industry. We know that many businesses are being impacted by the current economic conditions driven by the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Bueller. “We hope to be a strong resource to our members and to our communities as we head towards an economic recovery. Our chapter has already taken swift and immediate steps such as creating virtual meetings and online resources where our members can find assistance for their needs. Our efforts will continue as we look forward to being able to come together again as an industry.”
Elected officers for the Rocky Mountain Chapter also include Dylan Hunter of DH Construction as Vice President, Lara Robinson of Apex Welding and Fabrication as Secretary, Steve Gjertson of Gjertson Metalworks as Project Chair, and Kevin Manning of Juno Works as Treasurer.
