Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel Pool

Located in the heart of Downtown Denver on the popular 16th Street Mall, Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel pool was originally equipped with clear plexiglass panels that had become scratched from the high winds and natural elements. These panels were successful in creating a wind block but little to no privacy from the surrounding buildings or a focal point for hotel guests lounging at the pool.

Approach

To create privacy without installing a brick wall, Parasoleil utilized the Lemon Drop pattern on 3/8" thick aluminum supported by 48" on-center beams. This pattern is transitional - a fractal pattern with natural elements and organized in a structured way, creating a relaxing, biophilic element in the space. A specific cropping was designed, allowing for the pattern to be repeated with a cohesive flow between the panels and for an easy installation.
