"They're the experts and the product is amazing. It's given us so many ways to achieve design aesthetics. The material that they're using is not corroded, it's going to sustain for the lifetime of the project. "
When the Denver Botanic Garden built the Hive Café, near the Lilly pond and nestled in a grove of trees, the design team were looking for a solution that would blend the experience of sitting under shade trees with a built structure that would extend the same feel.
Parasolei’s Winter Branches panels, installed on a substantial wooden structure, cast organic shadows on the ground, table tops, and even the vertical surfaces of the overhead support beams to envelope the garden’s patrons in a play of light and shadow that both shelters and changes with the passing of the sun bridging the experience to other areas of the garden. The installation truly creates a Sense of Place.
